History
The game of golf formally arrived on the North Shore with the establishment of Essex County Club in Manchester in 1893, Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton in 1894, Salem Country Club in 1895, and on “Tarr’s Pasture”, Wenham Country Club in 1899. This par 65 course offers a challenge for golfers of all abilities; as you play this lovely layout, you’ll find opportunities to test each club in your bag as you decide which pins to attack or not.
Since the beginning of our 2008 season we have had more than 20 Hole-In-Ones between men and women, using anything from a sand wedge to a driver. With 8 par 3’s, there is a good chance that golfer’s could experience their first, or multiple in one round, which has happened on more than one occasion. This is a very well conditioned golf course and the greens are small, further complicated by their many undulations. If this becomes your favorite course, the club offers affordable membership options as well. To learn more about Wenham Country Club visit the website www.wenhamcountryclub.com.
